HR Generalist
About the Role
We are looking for a Human Resources Professional who recognizes the critical value of building relationships and creating a work environment that values and grows our employees. You are familiar with wage and hour and employment law to ensure the company remains compliant with regulations. This key role supports the Chief Operating Officer.
What you’ll get to do:
The HR Generalist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all human resource functions within the organization. This position independently performs the full scope of HR responsibilities, including compliance, onboarding, training, employee relations, benefits administration, and policy development, and partners closely with our internal recruiter. Additionally, this position will work with the COO on key workforce issues ensuring communications and resources are deployed across the organization to help drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HR documentation
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
- Coordinate employee benefit programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance, conduct, and conflict resolution
- Administer safety programs and support compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Coordinate employee recognition and engagement initiatives
- Respond to unemployment claims, workers’ comp cases, and other external agency requests
- Continuously improve HR processes for efficiency and clarity
- Assist managers with hiring and onboarding staff including job posting, pre-employment drug screening and background checks and onboarding tasks are completed consistently and timely.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding company policies, benefits, and programs.
- Coach management regarding hiring decisions, employee issues, compensation, benefits, and health/safety issues.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years Human Resources experience, clearly demonstrating the full complement of HR Generalist responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (Innova preferred)
- Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects/demands simultaneously.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- High level of commitment to confidentiality and ethical decision making.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Professional certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus but not required

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly: $35 – $35 per hour, DOE
